The 2008 Melburnian of the Year, champion yachtsman John Bertrand will join Lord Mayor John so for the Melbourne Day Flag Raising Ceremony.
Once again Melbourne Day will be marked by different events, including a kids letter writing exhibition, free activities at the State Library, an art prize, awards ceremony and the Flag Raising Ceremony with morning tea and live entertainment.
The Melbourne Day Flag Raising Ceremony, on August 30, is a free event.
