Providing a creative voice for Australians touched by cancer, Cancer Council Victoria is proud to open its inspiring Arts Awards Exhibition at 120 Collins Street, Melbourne on Sunday 19 July 2009.
This insightful and moving exhibition brings together the most outstanding works from entrants of all ages who have shared their cancer experiences through visual art, short story, film, poetry and indigenous art, as well as children’s writing and art. Judged by high profile experts, each artwork chosen for the exhibition is unique and demonstrates how no two cancer journeys are the same.
All of the artists in this year’s exhibition convey their cancer story with incredible honesty, warmth and courage. By sharing their experience through creative expression, they have a unique opportunity to remember loved ones, help others understand and provide a sense of hope for those affected by cancer.
The 2009 Arts Awards Exhibition is a free public event and opens in Melbourne on Sunday 19 July, before touring Victoria.
